Today the rest of the country got to see our serially defensive mayor in action.
I’ve compared him before to his predecessor, Shirley Franklin, and for that I apologize. Kasim Reed is much more thin-skinned than she was.
My suggestion to the mayor: Stay off the airwaves. Much of the clusterfuck is not your fault, but people don’t like hearing a defensive politician amid a crisis.
The blame belongs with the state; Gov. Nathan Deal said late Tuesday the storm was “unexpected” and the head of the Georgia Emergency Management Association, asserted that gridlock wasn’t severe around 3 and 4 p.m. Tuesday, hours after traffic was bottlenecked in all directions.
