RED SOX PARADE

Another reminder America’s most racist big city isn’t in the South

When I heard a black NHL player’s game-winning goal was greeted by a torrent of racist tweets it wasn’t hard to guess which city’s team lost. Par for the course for Boston, where racist sports fans have always felt at home. Sport and race always has been a combustible pairing in Boston. In the 1970s, when Russell was coaching the NBA‘s Seattle Supersonics, he said that as an African-American he’d rather be a lamp post in Seattle than the mayor of Boston. Perhaps reflecting the racial attitudes of owner Tom Yawkey, the Red Sox were the last major league team to sign a black player (Pumpsie Green, in 1959). Years earlier, the team held a tryout at Fenway Park for Jackie Robinson and other black players, a charade designed to placate a liberal member of the city council. … Darnell McDonald, an African-American outfielder in his third year with the Red Sox, said: “I’ve had the n-word written on my car, in Boston. It’s individuals, man. Racism is everywhere; I’m not just going to say Boston. It’s just unfortunate that people are that ignorant.” …

Are ’80 to 85 percent’ of conservatives racist?

I don’t think so, but, according to World Nut Daily columnist Vox Day, roughly 4 out of 5 commenters on conservative blogs have expressed solidarity with shit-canned National Review columnist John Derbyshire, author of a recent column that could easily be mistaken for a David Duke polemic — only literate. But it’s inarguably racist, as evident in this excerpt where Derbyshire advises his children to: (10a) Avoid concentrations of blacks not all known to you personally. (10b) Stay out of heavily black neighborhoods. (10c) If planning a trip to a beach or amusement park at some date, find out whether it is likely to be swamped with blacks on that date (neglect of that one got me the closest I have ever gotten to death by gunshot). (10d) Do not attend events likely to draw a lot of blacks. (10e) If you are at some public event at which the number of blacks suddenly swells, leave as quickly as possible. (10f) Do not settle in a district or municipality run by black politicians. (10g) Before voting for a black politician, scrutinize his/her character much more carefully than you would a white. (10h) Do not …

Someone buy this racist a dictionary

The owner of the company that produces the disquietingly popular anti-Obama bumper sticker — “Don’t Re-Nig in 2012″ — denies any racist implication. Moreover, she claims some of her best friends are black. I’m sure they have the sticker on the back of their pick-ups. Ms. Smith insisted that  the bumper sticker is not racist. I asked her about the “N” word, for which “nig” is the shortened version. “According to the dictionary [the N word] does not mean black. It means a low down, lazy, sorry, low down person. That’s what the N word means.” The redneck dictionary, perhaps, but (incredibly trite cliche alert) Webster’s defines it as a “member of any dark skinned race. Taken to be offensive.” Giving Ms. Smith the benefit of the doubt, I checked the definition of niggardly, a word that has nothing to do with race but is generally avoided due to its uncomfortably similar spelling. nig·gard·ly   http://sp.dictionary.com/dictstatic/d/g/speaker.swf [nig-erd-lee] adjective 1. reluctant to give or spend; stingy; miserly. 2. meanly or ungenerously small or scanty: a niggardly tip to a waiter Related articles Creator of ‘Don’t Re-Nig in 2012′ bumper sticker says: ‘I am not …

Reports of racism’s death have been greatly exaggerated

While it’s convenient for the left to ostracize a region they view as foreign, racism is not the sole provence of the South. Sure, it’s more pronounced in places like Meridian, Mississippi than Atlanta, but I heard my share of racist jokes in L.A. (People make certain assumptions when they hear a Southern accent. I was always happy to disappoint them.) Long story short: Racism lives — North, South, East and West. It’s not the problem that it used to be, but cancers never completely disappear.

America’s (worst) sheriff

The allegedly crooked and definitely racist sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona was an honored guest at the recent GOP presidential debate in Tucson. Rick Perry sought and received his endorsement. Now Sheriff Joe Arpaio is claiming there is “probable cause” that Obama’s birth certificate was forged. That requires an unfathomable conspiracy but, as we’ve learned, facts don’t matter to the bomb throwers. Nor does saving tax dollars, apparently. Presidential eligibility is a bit out of your jurisdiction, eh Sheriff Connor. The legitimatization of fringe characters like Arpaio speaks volumes about today’s Republican Party. I don’t recall Democratic presidential candidates ever courting Cynthia McKinney for her nomination, and Arpaio is every bit as fringy as the former Georgia congresswoman. There’s a new Alabama in town, and it’s Arizona.

Foxnews.com readers react to Whitney Houston’s death

(via Little Green Footballs) I am now patiently waiting for the grand messiah Obama to have a blk fundraiser in honor of Whitley with Kevin Costner as guest of honor with all the Hollywood elites invited along with Alan Colmes, Al Sharpton, Jeremia Wright, Charles Rangel, etc. with a menu featuring blk eyed peas, grits, Imported Kobe steak, Dom Perignon, sweet potato pie and a mus lll im scarf as a momento of this great occasion. Of course the door prize will be an all expense paid trip to Kenya to visit the Obama tribe and birthplace of his ancestors while the American people still look for this imposter’s birth certificate in Hawaii !!! Professional race baiter decries ‘unconscionable racially charged attack’

Rush Limbaugh has become the Bizarro Farrakhan, seeing racism at every turn. The only victims, of course, are whites and Herman Cain. “Politico and the mainstream media has launched an unconscionable, racially stereotypical attack on an independent, self-reliant conservative black because for him that behavior is not allowed,” Limbaugh said today on his radio show. It’s a familiar refrain from Minister Limbaugh. Let’s review: “Obama’s America, white kids getting beat up on school buses now. You put your kids on a school bus, you expect safety but in Obama’s America the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering, ‘Yay, right on, right on, right on, right on,’ and, of course, everybody says thewhite kid deserved it, he was born a racist, he’s white.” “Obama’s entire economic program is reparations.” “The days of them not having any power are over, and they are angry. And they want to use their power as a means of retribution. That’s what Obama’s about, gang. He’s angry, he’s gonna cut this country down to size, he’s …

Ignorant redneck racist claims martyrdom

Figures that the idiot Palin and race baiter Rusty Limbo would rush to support displaced Monday Night Football balladeer Hank Williams Jr. “Hank Williams and what he is going through now, I think it’s a very clear illustration of a greater societal problem and that is the hypocrisy on the left — the liberals who can throw these stones at a conservative and they knowing that they’re not going to be held accountable,” Palin said on Sean Hannity’s radio show Thursday. The real double standard would involve Williams not getting fired. If you or I said what he did we’d be canned. That hasn’t stopped Bocephus from playing the victim card every bit as clumsily as Palin does. He’s selling Hank Jr. for President T-shirts on his website. Strangely, Williams is also getting support from Jon Stewart, Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg. I guess celebrities should be protected from making assholes of themselves in public. As for the headline, I think it’s fair to call someone who rhapsodizes about the South winning a racist. If …

Non-apology du jour

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – A state Republican activist has admitted to and apologized for calling a gorilla that escaped from the Riverbanks Zoo Friday an “ancestor” of First Lady Michelle Obama. Actually, he didn’t apologize. We spoke with DePass over the phone Friday night. He said, “I am as sorry as I can be if I offended anyone. The comment was clearly in jest.” … He also said, “The comment was hers. Not mine,” saying the first lady made statements in the media recently saying we are all descendents of apes. I think it’s safe to conclude that Rusty DePass is a racist asshole. I apologize if that doesn’t offend him.

‘Where is Bull Conner [sic] and his dogs?’

How ironic, and predictable, that Jim from Houston ain’t ones for proper Englush. Where is Bull Conner and his dogs? What part of “Illegal” is so damned difficult to understand? Jem’s comment was typical of the 250 (and counting) found on Glenn Beck’s Blaze website in response to coverage of Saturday’s protest of HB 87 in downtown Atlanta. Not a single commenter challenges the racism of Jimey and his ilk. (I’m not calling all supporters of HB 87 racist, but the rabid bigotry excerpted below is more prevalent, and accepted, than we like to think.) Want our country back How about this idea….. set up a ‘fake’ facebook protest for illegals and then round them all up and take them home…… I’m sure they would love Mexico this time of year, weather is great and there are jobs there that Mexican‘s won’t do…… send them home…. save our republic….. Whostolemypig When they are bunched up like that it makes it easier to load them on rail cars headed south. With Obama’s bullet trains the job …

Racists or religious fanatics? Protesting members of the controversial Westboro Baptist Church were met with an unlikely group of counter-protesters Monday at Arlington Cemetery. … Among those counter-protesting at the cemetery’s main entrance: About 10 members of a group that claims to be a branch of the Ku Klux Klan from Virginia called the Knights of the Southern Cross. Hitler or Pol Pot? Red Sox or Yankees? Glee or American Idol?

Mississippi, where it’s always 1964

Disturbing. We asked voters on this poll whether they think interracial marriage should be legal or illegal- 46% of Mississippi Republicans said it should be illegal to just 40% who think it should be legal. Guess which GOP candidate does best among that 46 percent? Palin’s net favorability with folks who think interracial marriage should be illegal (+55 at 74/19) is 17 points higher than it is with folks who think interracial marriage should be legal (+38 at 64/26.) Noted & Quoted, Vin Diesel edition

HILTON: I went out with that guy last night. Which guy? HILTON (points to an actor in Saving Private Ryan): We were making out, but then we went somewhere where it was bright and I saw he was black and made an excuse and left. I can’t stand black guys. I would never touch one. It’s gross. (pauses) Does that guy look black to you? How black does a guy have to be? HILTON: One percent is enough for me. Hilton, 18 at the time, shows off her business acumen in this conversation with a New York Times reporter. HILTON: I’m thinking about posing for Playboy. They love famous people’s kids. Like who? HILTON: I don’t know. And the only reason I’d do it is because when my dad finds out, he’ll pay me double the money not to do it.
