Fanplex, as you may recall, is the ivory standard of white elephants. Built by the Fulton County Recreational Authority for $2.5 million, Fanplex opened in 2002 and shut down two years later after losing half-a-million dollars. It was developed to give Braves fans a place to play miniature golf and video games before and after games — as if such attractions were unavailable elsewhere.
