The Falcons and the Georgia World Congress Center Authority have agreed that a retractable-roof stadium that would result in the demolition of the Georgia Dome is their best plan going forward.
Actually the best plan going forward would be spending the money on something useful but we now that ain’t going to happen.
The price is going up, too. After a study last year pegged the cost of a an open-air stadium at about $700 million, a new analysis commissioned by the GWCC puts the cost of a retractable-roof stadium at $947.7 million.
