The petty bigotry of one million moms

One Million Moms, a front group for the Christian fundamentalist American Family Association, is “offended” by JC Penney’s decision to hire Ellen DeGeneres as a spokesperson.

By jumping on the pro-gay bandwagon, JC Penney is attempting to gain a new target market and in the process will lose customers with traditional values that have been faithful to them over all these years.

  1. Everything is a one-way street in favor of gays and/or liberals. 30 years ago, gays demanded that Anita Bryant be terminated from her contract as spokesperson for Florida orange juice, and she was. What is the difference, except perspective?

  2. I don’t give a shit who someone chooses as a spokesperson. If JC Penney hired Rush Limbaugh I wouldn’t say a peep. Don’t social conservatives have better things to do than protest Ellen pitching dungarees?

  3. I am offended by people who get offended.

Yeah, that’s why there are so many states where marriage equality is still many years away and that’s why in a number of states, gay people can be discriminated against in matters of employment. If you honestly believe that, you need to pay more attention.
