They were referenced in a recent post, which got me wondering: Where are Shane King and Michael Butler now? According to the first site that popped up on Google, their Facebook fan page, the extremely happy couple have separated. Shane, the more flamboyant of the two, now owns a hair salon in Jackson, Miss., which is a total shock. No word on where his pageant daddy partner ended up but it’s most likely somewhere I’d rather not visit.
I’ve posted this before, and if you watched it then you’ll no doubt remember. If not, FF to the 1:22 mark and thank God you live in a world far removed from the Alabama junior miss pageant scene.
My favorite Beatle is the subject of a Martin Scorsese documentary tonight on HBO.

I wish I had seen “Man on Wire,” released two years ago, in a theater. I watched it last night from my sofa and was thoroughly transfixed. AMAZING is an overused superlative, but Philippe Petit’s Twin Towers crossing is just that. I’m stunned that so few people know of or even remember this singular event, performed not for fame or money but merely for the exhilaration that comes with accomplishing the unfathomable. If you have Comcast On Demand you can find “Man on Wire” under the Free Movies section.
The dance sequence at the 1:20 mark is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. (Open in new window to watch.)
The actual pageant is even scarier (open in new window):
