Two of New York’s public worker unions are helping finance the Congressional campaign of New York City Councilman Charles Barron, who counts Qadaffi among his heroes (along with Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez) and once hosted a reception for Zimbabwean butcher Robert Mugabe.
Two major city public worker unions, District Councils 37 and 1707 of the giant American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, have already endorsed Barron against Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries, a relatively moderate legislator who has championed charter schools, a union bugaboo.
Barron is also a reliable anti-Semite, but at least he doesn’t support giving the parents of poor kids an educational option besides public schools.
