when will obama speak out on human rights?

China has detained several dissidents ahead of the president’s visit, and it’ll be interesting to see if he takes note. His silence on human rights abuses has disappointed.

Sorry, but that is just a silly question – ask the Dali Lama if he expects Obama to speak out on human rights. Hell ask Neda’s family?

Read your paper tonight – nice article in there from the NY Times that tells you exactly why Obama will be hat in hand in China – they own us and his crazy spending will allow them to own us more. Of course he will not criticize China and from the left – chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp

Hm, the crazy spending started with Reagan and hasn’t stopped since then. Actually it was increased during Bush and now to clean the mess from the last administration. However, I do not know what you read, but comments about free internet etc. I thought that was good without risking an upset Chinese government – since they own the US….and since pure threats and war for democracy never worked (Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea, Vietnam) really (except WW2). So, why not try diplomacy. The Chinese improved compared to the 80ties. Mostly through trading and talking – but never through threatening.

However, in Iran they should send some warning shots. Since Ahmadinedschad and the Mullahs have a very cynical worldview (and rather die than to bend), the chinese government however is not out to kill the rest of the world. So, why not deal with them as “friends” and focus on the more dangerous enemy. In this case Iran.

sorry dude but Obama’s spending is out of control – he makes Bush II look like a piker. As John Adams said, “facts are stubborn things.”
