"A word to the wise is infuriating" Dr. H.S. Thompson

georgia’s most embarrassing congressman

with 6 comments

Gotta be Lynn Westmoreland, right? Unfortunately, the bar has been lowered.

A Republican congressman from Georgia is calling President-elect Obama a Marxist and warning that he might be planning to form a Gestapo-like security force so he can rule as a dictator.

Two-term Rep. Paul Broun of Athens cited a July speech that has circulated on the Internet in which Obama called for a civilian force to take some of the national security burden off the military.

Broun won his seat after defeating another idiot who suggested the University of Georgia should be bombed, save for the football team. Once elected Broun introduced legislation that would ban pornography at U.S. military installations.

He attracted more unwanted attention when he compared the recent economic bailout plan to a cow patty with a marshmallow center.

  1. Obama definitely has Marxist leanings. Check back in 24 months.

  2. Returning tax rates to pre-Bush levels doesn’t exactly qualify as Marxism. If that’s the case, what did that make Nixon? The top marginal tax rate during the Nixon years was 70 percent, nearly double what Obama is proposing.

  3. Yeah, we know those two are complete losers. The real question is ‘Who is Georgia’s most embarrassing state legislator?’ One man in the running just got re-elected as the House Speaker.

Oh, and I dare IC Atlanta to turn off the talk-radio for at least 2 weeks and come up with an original thought of his own.

  4. ATL Paddy – I am quoting Obama you liberal sycophant “it is time to redistribute the wealth.” That is Marxism – perhaps you believe in taking what you didn’t earn – I don’t.

I will give you credit – I don’t like Glenn Richardson either.

The best tax is either a basic flat tax as many countries have adopted or the fair tax – a version of what Hamilton wanted in the first place.

  5. It isn’t the tax rates that makes him Marxist, it is the reasoning (and his first 20 years after high school haha).

The old tax rates were set because the government said they “needed” the money.

Obama states clearly his policy is to make things more “fair”, even if it means less revenue to the Fed.

  6. I think they should go back to Reagan levels. You know when he lowered rates and doubled revenues.
