Those MSM dinosaurs (more on them later) persist on labeling MTV’s awards shows as irreverent or cutting edge. First off, awards shows are anything but. And, to paraphrase Kim Gordon from the "Homerpalooza" episode, MTV is (only slightly) about (crappy) music, (lots and lots of) advertising and (even more) youth-oriented product positioning. Hence the award given to "Transformers" — directed by the hackiest of hacks, Michael Bay — as "Best Summer Movie You Haven’t Seen Yet."
Not if MTV has anything to do with it.
As for the penultimate episode of "The Sopranos" — brilliant. We better get a two-hour finale next week.
I’m thinking we need 90 min., minimum for Tony & Co….2 hours would be even better. And, you heard it here first: PAULIE is the real double-agent, not the guy Silvio handily dispatched with piano wire to start off last night’s installment.
