This is a brain on no drugs. Any questions?

George W. appears intent on funneling boatloads of cash into wars he can’t win. Now he’s asking for more funding to crusade against marijuana. His weapon of choice? Useless propaganda:

President Bush has proposed a significant jump in funding for an anti-drug advertising campaign that government-funded research shows is at best useless and at worst has increased drug use among some teens.

The administration has asked for a 31 percent increase in funding for the advertising campaign that a nearly five-year study concluded had increased the likelihood that all teens would smoke marijuana. The White House proposal would increase the program’s budget to $130 million over the next year.

  1. Dude, nothing alerts me to the harmful effects of ganja like a bunch of middle-aged Republicans telling me I shouldn’t smoke it. Unless of course it’s the wife of an old Republican telling me to just say no. My friends and I have quit smoking weed in droves. And quit trying to outrun vicious dogs at lumber yards. What a joke! Cut funding for NPR and spend it on anti-drug ads that kids will laugh at while doing bong hits. Maybe Bush is trying to see to it that all young people do lots and lots of drugs so they might lose interest in voting.
